3D Builder Mastery

The complete guide to calculating dimensions, port tuning, and exporting precision cut lists.

The Workspace & Top Toolbar

The SavvyWoofer interface gives you real-time visual feedback. As you adjust parameters on the right, the 3D model in the center updates instantly.

  • 3D Model vs Plan: Switch between the interactive 3D rotation view and the flat 2D panel breakdown.
  • X-Ray: Makes the exterior wood panels transparent so you can inspect port lengths and subwoofer depths inside the box.
  • Auto-Generate: Instantly calculates an optimal box size and port length based on your target tuning frequency.

Box Parameters

Found in the first tab on the right sidebar, this is where you define the physical constraints of your enclosure. Use the top-right toggle to switch between Metric (mm) and Imperial (inches) at any time.

Outer Dimensions

Input your exact Width, Height, and Depth. The system immediately calculates the Total Internal Vol (gross) and Net Internal Vol (gross minus wood and component displacement).

Construction Details

Define Material Thickness (e.g., 16mm or 18mm MDF) and set the Front Panel Layout (Flush Mount, Recessed, or Protruding).

Adding Subwoofers

Click the "Subwoofer" tab to configure your drivers. The builder accurately calculates the displacement of the motor structure inside the box.

  • Size Presets: Quickly load standard sizes (8", 10", 12", 15", 18") or input exact cutout diameters manually.
  • Offset X & Y: Use the sliders or manual inputs to move the subwoofer across the baffle. Perfect for creating dual-sub layouts.
  • Displacement & Depth: Enter the manufacturer's specified displacement (e.g., 2.5L). The depth measurement ensures the magnet doesn't hit the back wall (watch for collision warnings!).

Advanced Port Tuning

The "Port" tab handles all acoustic calculations. As you change box dimensions or subwoofers, the Tuning Frequency (Fb) updates in real-time.

The Target Fb Solver

Don't guess your port length. Type your desired frequency into the Target Fb box (e.g., 35Hz) and click the blue Solve button. SavvyWoofer will mathematically determine the exact port length required based on your current port area and net volume.

Round Ports

Select standard PVC pipe diameters. Use "Length Inward" and "Length Outward" if you want the aeroport protruding from the box.

Slot Ports

Set the Slot Width and Slot Height. The builder will automatically deduct the port wall thickness from your front panel cut list.

Visual Appearance

Make your renders pop for client presentations. Under the Appearance tab, you can apply materials to "All Panels" or target specific panels (e.g., painting just the Front Baffle).

  • Raw MDF
  • Birch Wood
  • Carpets (Grey/Black)
  • Leathers / Gloss

Calculated Data, Cut Lists & Exporting

Expand the bottom drawer labeled Calculated Data & Cut List to view your final manufacturing numbers.

Understanding the Output

Calculated Parameters
  • • External Dimensions
  • • Total & Net Internal Volume
  • • Total Port Area
  • • Final Tuning Frequency (Fb)
Cut List
  • • Lists Top, Bottom, Front, Back, Left, Right.
  • • Provides exact Width & Height per panel.
  • • Automatically deducts slot port gaps and material thicknesses.

Exporting to PDF: Click the "Export" dropdown in the top right of the data panel. You can generate a 1-page PDF Blueprint (perfect for your workshop) or attach this data directly to a Customer Quote in your CRM.

Saving to Your Tenant Library

When your design is perfect, click the green Save Build button in the top toolbar. You will be prompted to give it a name and assign it to a vehicle from the global Vehicle Database.

Saved builds appear instantly in your Tenant Builds library in the Admin dashboard, allowing you or your team members to reload, edit, or quote them later.
